Developmental Process Work (DPW) is a holistic, short-term therapy application of Janae and Barry Weinholds’ comprehensive theory, Developmental Systems Theory. It provides psychological and energetic interventions designed to heal the chronic effects of Developmental Trauma in individuals, couples and families. The training will provide skill-building activities related to the seven different types of therapeutic interventions utilized in DPW. The content of the training is drawn from the Weinholds’ two new books, Healing Developmental Trauma and Conflict Resolution: The Partnership Way.
Developmental Trauma is a new diagnostic term that describes subtle and seemingly “ordinary” or “normal” relational childhood experiences that most adults do not recognize nor perceive as having had traumatic effects on them as a child. These “ordinary” relational events, which can begin before birth and extend through the first three years of life, involve a loss of attunement between them and their parents— particularly with their mothers. These energetic disconnects create Developmental Trauma that mold the development of the Internal Working Modal of Reality. Unrecognized and untreated Developmental Trauma create addictive behavior patterns, physical and mental health disorders, distorted beliefs, intra-psychic splits, disturbances or distortions in relationship dynamics and intractable conflicts.
Developmental Process Work is based on principles from the field of epigenetics, a new biological science that emphasizes environmental nurture rather than genetic “nature” as the primary force in evolution. Because it includes both psychological and energetic interventions, they believe DPW fills an important gap in the field of Energy Psychology.
NOTE: This training is the required Introduction to a one-year Certificate Program in Developmental Process Work planned to begin in Spring 2009 at MAHEC.

Promoting Positive Mental Health in Children
This training synthesizes a broad spectrum of information, resources, programs and services related to fostering positive mental health in children. Interest in children’s mental health parallels a dramatic increase in the number of young children being identified as violent, defiant, hyperactive and suffering from an array of what appear to be mental health–related problems.
Many, if not most, of these children are being given these negative labels and diagnoses erroneously. In fact, these “problem” children are profoundly gifted and, therefore, do not fit into the outdated childcare and educational structures in which they find themselves. “Misbehavior” is often their way of communicating that they need something different.
Because of a lack of awareness in the adults who care for them, some of these highly advanced children are experiencing a lot of developmental trauma at home and in childcare and schools. You will find more information about how to promote positive mental health in children in the topics listed to the right. The links below take you to other web sites where you can learn more about the needs of these “new children.”

Conflict Resolution Training
This exquisite experiential workshop teaches how to use conflict as a tool for building sustainable relationships in a variety of settings. The workshop is based on the Weinholds’ groundbreaking theory, Developmental Systems Theory, and their over 23 years of research and practical experience (personal, counseling, and teaching). Barry and Janae provide practical break-through tools for self-inquiry and communication that help you learn to: - Embrace conflict as an opportunity for growth rather than something to avoid. - Experience resolving conflict as a deeply transformative experience that can totally change your life and your ability to build sustainable relationships.
"The Partnership Way” of resolving conflicts opens you to personal and profound experiences of transformative living. In this powerful workshop, the Weinholds provide a safe place to experience compassionate and heartful intimacy.
It will also help you understand the limitations of your personal style of conflict resolution and learn how to change it. You will also learn how to effectively resolve three kinds of conflicts: conflicts of wants and needs, conflicts of values and beliefs and intractable conflicts that recycle in your closest relationships. You will also learn about the role of early relational trauma in your most difficult conflicts and learn how to heal these traumas.
Join others who are seeking practical skills in using conflict resolution as a tool for building sustainable relationships. Email Barry and Janae today for information about the next training.
Comprehensive trainings are typically one or two days, with shorter introductory presentations available upon request. Your organization may organize a training and bring us in to conduct it. We also organize trainings thorough our Institute.
Cost of the Training: The cost varies with the length of the training and the size of the group being trained. Email Janae or Barry for specific costs or to receive updated information on any future BSR training. Or sign up for our newsletter to get announcements of upcoming trainings.
