The Kind & Safe Schools Initiative, a highly effective character education and bullying prevention program, is now available online. A school can start the program this fall for as little as $100. The cost of the entire package, which contains of three Program Guides and a complete evaluation of 15 objectives, is $500. The materials can be copied, shared in a school or district and used again and again.
For an additional $40 per Program Guide, you can order bound hard copies of each these three Manuals. Most schools choose to pay for the four products online and download them as PDF files for immediate use. It is also possible to obtain the products by mailing a Purchase Order to the address at the bottom of this page. Once we receive the check for the products, we will emil the access codes that allow you to download the Program Guides.
This additional cost also includes the shipping and handling costs. Schools only need to pay for one set of these Program Guides and then they receive permission to make additional copies, if
needed. You can order each of the Program Guides that are contained in the
package separately, as well.
Description of KASSI
This award-winning character education and bullying prevention program is based on outcome research gathered from over 125 schools. The character education part helps create a positive school climate that gives increased attention to pro-social behaviors. Our findings indicate that when a school implements our program, bullying behaviors almost immediately go down by 30% and put-downs are reduced by up to 94%. By implementing the three-part program over two years, it is possible to virtually eliminate bullying and put-downs in a school.
The full Initiative consists of five main interventions:
1) All school, classroom and counseling activities for creating a character education program and a positive learning climate for your school,
2) All-school and classroom activities to help a school implement an effective bullying prevention program and school policy,
3) A course outline and the learning activities needed to teach a conflict resolution course to all students,
4) Materials to help a school start a peer mediation program at your school and
5)
Guidelines and learning activities designed to initiate a restorative justice
approach to your school’s discipline program.
The first product consists of Volume I: A Program Guide

Character Education & Bullying Prevention with 271 pages. It consists of over 180 field-tested all-school,
classroom and counseling activities designed to create a character education program
and a positive learning climate in your school, plus help you implement an
effective bullying prevention program and policy for your school. This program
meets the requirements for the NC state mandate to for schools to implement a

The third product is Volume III: A Program Guide for
Conflict Resolution, Peer Mediation and Restorative Justice, 150 pages. It consists of over 120 field-tested all school,
classroom and counseling activities to assist a school in developing a conflict
resolution course for all students, a peer mediation program and a restorative
approach to a school’s discipline program. The conflict resolution part of this
Manual meets the NC state mandate to teach conflict resolution skills to all

The fourth product is an Evaluation Process that allows a
school to conduct pre-post measure on 15 different objectives. All the
evaluation instruments are included in the package along with detailed
instructions on how to establish and implement an evaluation plan. When the
school sends the data it has gathered to the Kindness Campaign Director, the data will be
analyzed and the school will receive a detailed written Evaluation Report
showing how effective the Initiative was in their school with recommendations
on how to make it even better.
